about

Denver band Wrinkle announces the kickoff of their first tour, the release of their second full-length record, and tape release through First Base Tapes. Their tour kickoff show is on Friday, February 9th at Seventh Circle Music Collective, with support from local bands American Grandma, Terremoto, and Club Soda. The band is scheduled to Wrinkle-rock their way through the American West for two weeks, playing songs from their new album, A Kaleidoscope of Butterflies.

A Kaleidoscope of Butterflies is the perfect title for an album that so successfully showcases Wrinkle’s musical versatility. The image of a kaleidoscope of butterflies creating continuously transforming patterns and vibrant colors might reflect how not one song on this 12 track record sounds like another. Each song has something different about it (check out Track 6, “Dab Cloak”, and the floaty jazz flute sprinkled throughout the record) but the album as a whole stays true to the unassuming yet unabashedly pop rock sound, coupled with relatable lyrics, that Wrinkle fans have come to love.

A Kaleidoscope of Butterflies is the loving collaboration of some of Denver’s kindest musical creatives: Amos Helvey, Evan Kallas, Nick Manske, Kat Plank, Rio Juniper Wolf, Davy Baby Timm, Elijah Jarocki, Ben Donehower, produced by Lucas Johannes, with album artwork by Cameryn Duarte. You can listen to A Kaleidoscope of Butterflies and check out these individuals’ other projects on Wrinkle’s bandcamp: wrinkle.bandcamp.com/album/a-kaleidoscope-of-butterflies

about

First Base Tapes Boulder, Colorado

We here at First Base Tapes think we know that it is better to matrix compellingly than to synthesize interactively. What do we evolve? Anything and everything, regardless of unimportance! Think ultra-affiliate-based. It sounds improbable, but it's true! We apply the proverb "Don't cry over spilt milk" not only to our implementation but our ability to benchmark.
